Summary
The server’s primary responsibility is to ensure guest satisfaction and drive sales. Their energy is “up and out”. Basic duties are to take guest orders, serve food and beverages, accept payments, and bus tables. Another essential function is to advocate for the guest and give your best service 100% of the time.

Operations
- Greets every guest warmly and promptly
- Works with other staff to ensure the dining room is clean and organized at all times. Is constantly pre-bussing, picking up trash from the floor, straightening tables and chairs, etc. as needed.
- Completes all opening, ongoing, and closing side work
- Is timely in all aspects of service; the greeting, beverage and food orders and delivery, guest check drop off and pick up
- Recognizes a difficult situation (i.e., long ticket times) and communicates proactively and effectively with the guest
- Pre-stages all courses at the table with plates, silverware, condiments, and any other necessary items
- Knows and communicates any food amp; drink specials and the soup of the day
- Knows all the point of sale functions and can navigate quickly and efficiently on screen
- Is knowledgeable about food allergens and takes any allergy or dietary restriction requests seriously
- Accurately executes all sales transactions and consistently utilizes restaurant accounting systems
- Ensures all food and beverages are presented properly before delivering to the guests
- Has a clear understanding of the ABC regulations and restaurant policies. Takes a conservative and proactive approach towards alcohol service and immediately communicates any issue to the MOD
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of all menu items and is able to make helpful recommendations and answer guest questions thoughtfully
- Treats all staff members with respect, which includes supporting and mentoring new staff members
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned based on the needs of the business
Other Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must be able to communicate, write, and understand English
Must have strong cash handling skills and the ability to operate a POS system
Must be able to work, standing and walking, in a fast-paced environment for up to 9 hours
Must have a current TIPS/TAP Card
Must have a current Municipality of Anchorage Food Worker Card
