Property Management & Real Estate Development
We are a hands-on property management and real estate development company seeking a Vice President of Finance to lead our financial operations as part of a planned leadership transition. This role is ideal for a candidate who is comfortable working in a small business environment—someone who can manage day-to-day accounting.
Core Accounting & Bookkeeping Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling the details, including:
- Maintaining accurate financial records and general ledger
- Managing accounts payable and receivable across multiple properties/entities
- Performing bank and account reconciliations
- Overseeing payroll and related filings
- Preparing quarterly financial statements and reporting packages
- Tracking budgets and analyzing variances by property
- Managing cash flow, including rent collections and vendor payments
- Maintaining organized, audit-ready records
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Real Estate & Property Management Focus
Experience in property management or real estate is strongly preferred, including:
- Financial oversight of multiple properties, entities, or LLCs
- Understanding of rent rolls, CAM reconciliations, and operating expenses
- Working with property managers, vendors, and external partners
Leadership & Strategic Responsibilities
In addition to day-to-day accounting, this role will:
- Provide financial insight and decision support to ownership
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans
- Improve financial systems, reporting processes, and internal controls
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax professionals
- Support financing activities, including lender reporting
- Help scale financial operations as the company grows
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience necessary, ideally in real estate or property management
- Strong accounting and financial reporting skills
- Comfortable in a small business, hands-on environment
- Experience with accounting/property management software
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
Transition Opportunity
This position is part of a planned transition as the current VP of Finance prepares for retirement. The incoming candidate will work closely during the transition period to ensure continuity and a smooth handoff of responsibilities.
Salary : $75,000 - $100,000
