What are the responsibilities and job description for the Organizing Apprentice position at Local 217 UNITE HERE?
Local 217 is looking for individuals who are passionate about fighting for justice for service industry workers to join our organizing internship.
Record-breaking inflation has hit working people hardest, putting our futures in jeopardy as basic necessities like rent and groceries skyrocket while the rich get richer and good jobs disappear. Service industry workers in Local 217 UNITE HERE are fighting back, organizing around the state to win industry-leading wages and benefits and build the solidarity we need to make a better world.
We are looking for interns to join our movement! Interns will be trained on basic and advanced organizing skills through shadowing and close work with staff organizers. Start date is flexible (though sooner is better), and experience is neither required nor preferred.
Ability to drive to various parts of Connecticut and flexibility in scheduling preferred.
Pay: $16.94 - $20.00 per hour
