Position Summary
The security officer will perform the daily tasks of the security team to ensure a safe and secure environment for Moonlight Basin properties. The security team works with all departments on a regular basis to assist in a multitude of duties and requests. The highest level of professionalism and integrity is required at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure members and guests receive outstanding service in a friendly environment, solid product knowledge and all components of guest service.
- Understand and apply all property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees, members and guests.
- Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a positive working environment.
- Maintain privacy of members and guests at all times.
- Conduct interior and exterior patrols throughout the property to include the lodge, clubhouse, golf course and facilities, checking for unsecured doors and rooms, trespassers, unauthorized persons in restricted areas and safety hazards.
- Alarm Response, Law Enforcement assists, Fire Department assists.
- Respond to all guest and associate calls while prioritizing emergencies.
- Maintain the security office, patrol vehicle and oversee 8,000 acres of amenities.
- Prepare and submit incident reports within the Security software by recording observations, information, occurrences, surveillance, interviewing witnesses, and obtaining signatures.
- Traffic and parking enforcement.
- Wildlife Management and Education
- Answer phone, alerts, and dispatch calls. Respond, communicate, follow up, and provide updates on all incidents.
- Perform Associate safety training.
- Report and resolve safety hazards throughout the property
- Ability to drive in inclement weather to include vehicle assists and pull outs.
- Knowledge of the property’s activities/events and ability to provide a professional security presence while focusing on customer service.
- Receive and communicate all information pertaining to your shift through daily briefings.
- General computer software knowledge and abilities.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in customer service.
- Experience in security, law enforcement or military background preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certificate required upon hiring.
- Current driver’s license is required.
Working Conditions
This position will be 50% in-office and 50% in the field. Work hours will vary depending on the business needs of Moonlight Basin. Typical hours are between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in addition to being on call nights, weekends, and/or holidays hours for emergencies based on business demands. Condition in the units is typical to those found in a multi-level dormitory (without elevators) and apartment style housing, required to working outdoors, exposed to the weather, and working in the snow, mud, with uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces.
When in the office, the work environment is characterized as that found in a typical office environment, with moderate temperatures and noise levels.
Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding job where the incumbent is required to lift 30lbs on a regular basis; stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch and do repetitive tasks with minimal breaks. Lift & move heavy objects, and climb stairs. When in the office the individual will sit, talk, or hear. Interact with others requiring Associate to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information.
- Position requires walking, driving and moving most of the working day.
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different outlets and other departments of the property on a timely basis.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill multiple tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
- Must be able to work in inclement weather.
- Must be able to work 12 hrs. shifts (Night / Day / Overlap).
