POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, the HR Generalist will play a key role in a wide range of HR activities including recruitment, employee relations, benefit administration, payroll, compliance, and policy implementation to support organizational goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides the highest level of service to employees on all shifts, as a first point of contact for HR related questions.
- Assist with recruiting and onboarding, including sourcing, interviewing, managing hiring processes, and onboarding new employees.
- Facilitate and participate in employee and community engagement events.
- Responsible for weekly payroll processing and reporting
- Administration of all benefit plans including Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, LTD, STD and Life Insurance. Manages open enrollment process.
- Manages leave of absence process (STD, FMLA).
- Ensures adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Responds to employment verifications, audit, garnishments, unemployment, and other agencies inquiries.
- Maintains HR records and personnel files; ensures compliance with I-9 records and E-Verify process.
- Partners with management to implement and execute HR-related projects.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
- 3-5 years of HR generalist experience (manufacturing experience a plus).
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR certification a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, benefits administration, and payroll processing. Paycor experience advantageous!
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and local HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information.
