The Consumer Lending Loan Officer role is responsible for evaluating, authorizing, and recommending approval of loan applications for individuals. What you’ll do:
- Loan Origination: Assist members and prospective members with loan applications, gathering documentation, and evaluating credit histories and financial status to determine loan eligibility.
- Member Service: Provide exceptional member service by responding to inquiries, addressing concerns, and guiding them through the loan process.
- Credit Analysis: Analyze applicants' financial information, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess risk and make informed lending decisions.
- Compliance: Ensure all loan applications comply with relevant regulations, company policies, and procedures.
- Approval Recommendations: Recommend approval or denial of loan applications based on comprehensive analysis and established guidelines.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate and thorough loan files, ensuring all required documentation is complete and up-to-date.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with members and referral sources to generate new lending opportunities.
- Market Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors to effectively serve members and contribute to credit union growth.
- Cross-Selling: Identify and promote additional financial products and services that meet members needs and enhance their overall financial well-being.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in consumer lending, banking, or financial services.
- Bilingual Spanish language proficiency preferred.
- Experience in a prior sales -oriented role is a plus.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Knowledge of lending regulations and compliance requirements.
