We are seeking a vigilant and professional Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring activities, preventing theft or unauthorized access, and responding promptly to emergencies. This role requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observation skills, and the ability to handle various situations with professionalism. Prior experience in law enforcement, military service, or security is highly valued, along with relevant certifications such as CPR and First Aid. The Security Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment and supporting the overall safety protocols of our organization.
Duties
- Conduct regular patrols of the property to monitor for suspicious activity or safety hazards
- Monitor surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras to oversee all areas of the premises
- Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies, including medical incidents requiring CPR or First Aid
- Enforce security policies by checking identification and controlling access points
- Document incidents accurately and prepare detailed reports for management
- Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying potential theft or vandalism
- Manage conflict situations using conflict management skills to de-escalate tense scenarios
- Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary
- Maintain a visible presence to deter unlawful activity and promote a safe environment
Experience
- Prior experience in law enforcement, military service, or professional security roles is preferred
- Knowledge of surveillance systems such as CCTV is advantageous
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable
- Experience with conflict management and loss prevention strategies is beneficial
- Strong observational skills and ability to remain calm under pressure are essential
- Previous work involving security protocols, incident reporting, or access control systems will be considered an asset
