Shuttle Driver

Position Summary

The Shuttle Driver escorts arriving and departing guests by assisting with their luggage utilizing a friendly, courteous manner. They transport guests as necessary utilizing the property vehicles. They also provide information about the hotel facilities and accommodations while upholding the Crowne Plaza’s high standards of service.

Essential Duties

• Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome.  Remain calm and attentive, especially during heavy hotel activity and emergencies. 
• Retrieve guest items from cars, busses, vans and carts.
• Transport guests to airport or other destinations as instructed, abiding by all traffic laws and rules of the road.
• Read and match luggage tags, write claim tickets, and detach portion to give to guest.
• Organize and store luggage as necessary in a designated area.
• Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice. Answer questions and offer assistance on hotel services, room features or amenities giving accurate information regarding outlet hours, directions to local attractions or function rooms, car rentals, airline shuttle service, etc.
• Drive guests to the destination of their choice that is within a 5 mile radius of the hotel.
• Complete all other duties assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to understand and follow written and or verbal instructions in English.
• Ability to read English sufficiently enough to obtain information from luggage tags and claim checks to write numbers and names on claim checks and rooming lists.
• Ability to grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move packages, boxes and luggage up to 50 lbs. continuously throughout shift.
• Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions.
• Sufficient manual dexterity in one hand to be able to load and unload luggage.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances on property.
• Ability to push and or pull luggage carts continuously throughout shift.

Qualifications

Experience

No prior experience required.  Prior guest service or other hospitality experience preferred.

Education

Any combination or education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination or education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.  High school diploma preferred.

Licenses or Certificates

Must possess a valid Class A – E or Chauffeur’s License
