Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Press Mold Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of molds used in plastics manufacturing processes, ensuring high-quality production standards are met. Duties
- Set up and operate presses for plastics blow molding, injection molding, and extrusion processes with precision and adherence to safety protocols
- Inspect molds and finished products using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure quality standards are achieved
- Loads molds into the presses, lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Handle materials efficiently using forklifts and other warehouse equipment, ensuring proper materials handling and storage practices
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process to identify defects or inconsistencies and implement corrective actions as needed
- Assist in fabrication and assembly tasks related to mold setup or modifications using hand tools and fabrication equipment
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience operating press machines
- Proficiency in plastics blow molding, injection molding, extrusion processes, and related fabrication techniques
- Ability to perform quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts; warehouse experience is a plus
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote continuous improvement in production workflows
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues quickly
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to manufacturing environments
