What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Specialist/Project Manager position at Lloyd Engineering?
The Environmental Scientist/ Project Manager will serve as a member of the environmental sciences group and will support, maintain, and manage all aspects of a project with budgets and schedules for multiple projects simultaneously. As necessary some field work, preparing reports, permit applications, proposals, and provide support in the QA/QC process would be required.
· Project management, including scope and proposal preparation, report writing, client communication, problem solving and strategizing in a fast-paced, and dynamic environment.
· Support LEI clients across multiple service areas including renewable generation, oil & gas, transportation, site development, and ecological restoration.
· Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients and regulatory agency personnel.
· Direct completion of technically accurate wetland delineations, biological surveys, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, Section 404/401 permitting, state permitting, and associated reporting.
· Support and mentor junior staff in field survey preparation and execution, technical report writing, and adherence with regulatory rules and regulations.
· Direct field investigations of projects sites including wetland delineations, functional wetland assessments, special aquatic site investigations, stream assessments, threatened and endangered species habitat evaluations, dredge material characterizations, mitigation monitoring and various other site visits according to applicable methodologies.
· Coordinate with GIS, design professionals and overall project team for accurate depiction of natural resources on construction plans and to identify opportunities for avoiding and minimizing potential impacts.
· 7 years of experience in natural resources, including project management
· Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Chemistry, or related life sciences field.
· Advanced knowledge of environmental regulations.
· The position requires the ability to work long hours in inclement weather conditions and be on the road for several days or weeks at a time. Heavy lifting and carrying required ( 50 lbs).
· Eligible to operate LEI vehicles. Ability to drive a 4-wheel drive vehicle on rugged, backcountry roads.
· Adhere to LEI’s safety procedures and standards of scientific and professional ethics.
· Proficiency with ArcGIS, Trimble. GPS, and Pathfinder Office.
· Strong technical writer and document reviewer.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
