About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance the organization's technology infrastructure and end-user computing environment. This role is responsible for providing advanced technical support, administering servers and network systems, implementing new technologies, and ensuring the security and reliability of IT operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting abilities, experience with both Windows and Linux environments, and a passion for delivering innovative technology solutions that support business objectives.
Responsibilities
- End-User Support & Systems Administration
- Provide Tier II and Tier III technical support for workstation hardware, software, operating systems, and business applications.
- Configure, deploy, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
- Perform workstation imaging, software packaging, and application deployment activities.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups within Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Administer and support Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, and other Microsoft 365 applications.
- Coordinate hardware and software procurement, deployment, and lifecycle management.
- Infrastructure & Network Support
- Administer and maintain Windows and Linux server environments.
- Support virtualization platforms and VPN technologies.
- Monitor and maintain network services, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure components.
- Assist with network troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and capacity planning.
- Maintain system availability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues affecting systems, applications, and end users.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurring issues.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures.
- Escalate issues appropriately while maintaining ownership through resolution.
- System Implementation & Technology Projects
- Participate in the design, implementation, and deployment of new technology solutions.
- Assist with system migrations, upgrades, infrastructure enhancements, and software implementations.
- Support project planning, testing, documentation, and user training activities.
- Evaluate current systems and recommend improvements to enhance performance, security, and efficiency.
- Security & Compliance
- Implement security best practices across endpoint, server, and network environments.
- Assist with system hardening and compliance initiatives related to HIPAA, SOC 2, NIST, ISO, and other regulatory requirements.
- Monitor systems for vulnerabilities and participate in remediation efforts.
- Support data protection, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.
- Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
- Work closely with IT leadership, vendors, and business stakeholders to support organizational objectives.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members when needed.
- Contribute to knowledge management by documenting procedures, configurations, and solutions.
- Maintain a customer-focused approach while delivering technical support and project outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Systems Administration, Systems Engineering, IT Infrastructure, or IT Operations.
- Strong experience administering Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Proficiency with networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
- Experience supporting virtualization platforms and enterprise infrastructure.
- Experience with workstation imaging, software deployment, and endpoint support.
- Experience administering Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Experience supporting SharePoint and Outlook administration.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , Security , ITIL, CISSP, or CISM.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune or other Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.
- Experience with Apple Business Manager and macOS support.
- Experience with Windows AutoPilot, SCCM, or similar endpoint management platforms.
- Experience administering Palo Alto networking equipment.
- Experience supporting or administering Salesforce.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O).
- Experience with Microsoft Company Portal.
- Experience administering Jira.
- Experience supporting VoIP and call center technologies, including Vonage or similar platforms.
