Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman/Journeywoman Painter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality painting services across residential and commercial projects. Your expertise will help transform spaces through precise application of paint, coatings, and finishes, ensuring durability and aesthetic appeal. Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and specialty coatings using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, sprayers (including airless paint spraying), and power tools.
- Read blueprints and schematics to accurately determine project scope, color schemes based on color theory principles, and specific application requirements.
- Perform detailed trim carpentry, caulking, plastering, stucco work, and fixture installation to achieve seamless finishes.
- Conduct surface repairs including drywall patching, masonry touch-ups, concrete finishing, and masonry work as needed for restoration projects.
- Utilize construction estimating skills to assess project materials and time requirements accurately.
- Follow safety protocols on construction sites while working with scaffolding, ladders, welding equipment, and other tools.
- Assist with remodeling projects by implementing framing carpentry and renovation techniques that meet client specifications.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris responsibly throughout each project phase.
Experience
- Proven construction site experience with a focus on painting in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools (including airless sprayers), scaffolding, and welding equipment.
- Familiarity with color theory principles to achieve desired aesthetic effects.
- Experience in restoration projects involving plastering, stucco application, masonry repairs or renovation work.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to project planning.
- Additional maintenance person skills such as fixture installation or maintenance work are a plus.
