POSITION OVERVIEW: As a CEI Project Manager at LJA Transportation, you will be responsible for all inspection activities for the Construction Engineering & Inspection Group on Transportation projects. The person works directly with the Construction Manager(s) to adequately staff projects.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

• Lead and mentor the Project Management Team to achieve operational and performance goals.
• Oversee planning, scheduling, and execution of assigned projects.
• Manage project budgets, cost controls, and financial reporting.
• Allocate resources effectively in coordination with the Operations Manager or Engineering Director.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address on-site needs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Ensure full compliance with contract documents, plans, and specifications.
• Direct and support inspection crews in monitoring contractor workmanship and materials.
• Verify material testing results, pay items, and related documentation.
• Identify and resolve project conflicts or risks promptly, escalating major issues as needed.
• Review and evaluate change order requests for accuracy and necessity.
• Support business development by pre-selling future project opportunities.
  
  

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering is required
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer
  
  

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 10 years overall experience on Transportation projects
• 4 years supervising inspection staff for highway construction
• Ability to perform work on active job sites in a safe, proficient manner required
• Ability to represent LJA and its clients in a professional manner at all times
• Must have a clean driving record; a DMV check will be conducted
