A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:
- Lead and mentor the Project Management Team to achieve operational and performance goals.
- Oversee planning, scheduling, and execution of assigned projects.
- Manage project budgets, cost controls, and financial reporting.
- Allocate resources effectively in coordination with the Operations Manager or Engineering Director.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address on-site needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Ensure full compliance with contract documents, plans, and specifications.
- Direct and support inspection crews in monitoring contractor workmanship and materials.
- Verify material testing results, pay items, and related documentation.
- Identify and resolve project conflicts or risks promptly, escalating major issues as needed.
- Review and evaluate change order requests for accuracy and necessity.
- Support business development by pre-selling future project opportunities.
- Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering is required
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer
- 10 years overall experience on Transportation projects
- 4 years supervising inspection staff for highway construction
- Ability to perform work on active job sites in a safe, proficient manner required
- Ability to represent LJA and its clients in a professional manner at all times
- Must have a clean driving record; a DMV check will be conducted
