We are looking for a motivated Senior Accountant who is ready to take the next step in their accounting career and grow with the company. This is an opportunity for someone with a solid accounting foundation who is ready to expand their knowledge and take on increasing responsibility in financial reporting, month-end close, ERP systems, and manufacturing accounting.
The ideal candidate does not need to have extensive senior-level experience. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, contribute, and develop into a key member of our accounting team as the company continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and experience listed in italics are preferred but not required.
Month-End & Financial Reporting
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and balance sheet reviews.
- Lead assigned month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
Daily Accounting Operations
- Process and oversee accounts payable transactions, including invoice review, coding, approval workflow, and vendor payments.
- Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, cash application, collections, and customer account reconciliation.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Maintain inventory accounting records, review inventory transactions, and support inventory accuracy initiatives.
Continuous Improvement & Growth
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
- Support ERP and financial system enhancements.
- Participate in cross-functional projects with operations, engineering, sales, and leadership teams.
- Develop expertise in manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, and business analysis.
- Partner with the CFO and leadership team on special projects, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives, with opportunities for expanded responsibility and professional growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience will be considered.
- 3-7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and month-end close processes.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
- Familiarity with manufacturing accounting, inventory transactions, and cost accounting concepts.
- Hands-on experience working with ERP systems in an accounting or manufacturing environment. Epicor ERP experience a plus.
