What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private Practice - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist position at Liz Carrara Nutrition?
Location: Ridgewood, NJ
Liz Carrara Nutrition is seeking a compassionate, eating disorder–specialized Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) to join our growing private practice as a part-time Associate RDN. This role includes providing full case coverage for our founder, Liz, during maternity leave from mid/late February 2026 through mid-June 2026, with onboarding and caseload building beginning in Fall/Winter 2025. The position will continue beyond Liz’s return to the office.
This role offers professional growth mentorship, case consultation, continuing education, and ongoing supervision with an IAEDP-certified supervisor.
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) who is warm, empathetic, and self-motivated
- 1–2 years experience counseling adults, adolescents, and families treating eating disorders & disordered eating
- Experience treating gastrointestinal diseases, diabetes
- Able to work in-person (Ridgewood, NJ) and via telehealth
- Able to commit to 15–20 clients per week when at higher capacity.
- Aligned with HAES® and Intuitive Eating principles
- Organized, communicative, and comfortable working independently
- Has liability insurance
Scheduling is flexible and support via case consultation/formal supervision is provided on an ongoing and as-needed basis. Compensation is based per-session, with details discussed during the interview process. This is a 1099 contractor position.
- Weekly collaboration with clients’ treatment teams (therapists, psychiatrists, physicians, etc.)
- Maintain accurate progress notes and treatment plans
- Uphold confidentiality and privacy standards
