TITLE: REGISTERED DIETITIAN (Non-Exempt Position)
HOURS: PART TIME : 10-12 HOURS PER WEEK
SUPERVISOR: DIRECTOR OF FOOD SERVICES
SUMMARY STATEMENT OF POSITION:
This position supports program goals that optimize nutrition and wellness outcomes in a community based setting.
REGULAR TASKS:
1. Develops nutrition education programs utilizing evidenced-based research. Establishes indicators and outcomes. Includes virtual nutrition education programs and in-person bi-monthly programs. During bi-monthly visits, RD certifies congregate setting sanitation and menus.
2. Provides the most appropriate and effective method of nutrition counseling and provides education based on clients’ needs. Tracks the nutrition counseling and education units for monthly CAARS report that is submitted to the Finance Department.
3. Develops a monthly nutrition education newsletter that is sent out to Home Delivered Meal (HDM) clients.
4. Conduct Nutrition Assessments of new clients and provides nutrition counseling to client and caregiver.
5. Ensures that the nutrition education and counseling requirements are in compliance with Office for the Aging (OFA) regulations.
6. Provides on-going consultations with participants in all programs, as necessary, and evaluate clients’ ongoing meal plan.
7. Identifies clients at high risk and develops a nutritional care plan as needed then communicates all problems with Social Service Department.
8. Coordinate with Food Service Manager to compile standardized recipes that meet 1/3 daily nutritional requirements.
9. Organize the 6 week cycle menu that is developed with the Food Service Manager into required OFA formatting. Certify that menus developed comply with the Dietary Reference Intake and the most recent Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Develop the nutritional analysis of the 6 week cycle menu.
10. Submit required nutrition documents to OFA monthly.
11. Develops annual nutritional surveys to assure that the client’s dieting needs are met and satisfaction measured.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum of BS degree in Nutrition Education or related fields.
· Registered Dietitian.
· 5 years professional experience.
