Job Description
LivWell Homes is seeking an experienced Lead Framing Carpenter to join our team in the Traverse City area. We build high-quality custom homes and are looking for someone who can take ownership of framing work, solve problems in the field, and lead other carpenters effectively.
A minimum of 15 years of professional framing/carpentry experience is required for this position. We are specifically looking for someone with extensive hands-on residential framing experience who can work independently and lead a crew without requiring constant direction.
Responsibilities
- Lead residential framing on custom-home projects
- Read and work accurately from architectural and structural plans
- Lay out and construct walls, floors, roofs, stairs, openings, and other structural components
- Coordinate and direct other carpenters and laborers
- Identify framing issues and determine practical solutions in the field
- Maintain high standards for quality, accuracy, productivity, and jobsite safety
- Coordinate with project managers and other trades
- Assist with other carpentry work as projects require
Requirements
- 15 years of professional carpentry/framing experience — required
- Extensive residential framing experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead a framing crew
- Strong blueprint-reading and layout skills
- Thorough understanding of residential construction methods and sequencing
- Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Dependable, professional, and able to communicate effectively with project managers and crew members

Compensation: Competitive and based on experience
Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
