Livoti’s Old World Market is seeking energetic, customer-focused, and dependable individuals to join our deli team. A Deli Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing, packaging, stocking, and maintaining high-quality deli products in a clean and organized environment. Associates are expected to uphold Livoti’s standards of quality, freshness, food safety, and professionalism.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service

• Greet all customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Assist customers with deli selections, recommendations, and special requests.
• Slice meats and cheeses according to customer specifications.
• Maintain a positive attitude and create an enjoyable shopping experience.
• Handle customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.

Food Preparation & Production

• Prepare sandwiches, wraps, salads, party trays, and other deli items according to company standards.
• Properly package, label, and date all prepared products.
• Maintain product freshness, quality, and presentation throughout the shift.
• Follow all recipes, portion controls, and preparation guidelines.
• Assist with hot food preparation and replenishment when needed.

Department Maintenance

• Stock and rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
• Maintain clean workstations, slicers, counters, coolers, and prep areas.
• Follow all sanitation, food safety, and health department regulations.
• Ensure displays remain full, attractive, and organized.
• Remove expired or damaged products promptly.

Teamwork & Operations

• Work efficiently with fellow associates and management.
• Assist other departments when needed.
• Follow opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain punctuality and reliable attendance.
• Adhere to all company policies and dress code standards.

Qualifications

• Previous deli, food service, restaurant, or grocery experience preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to safely operate deli slicers and kitchen equipment.
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and walking.
• Ability to work in refrigerated environments.
• Ability to safely use knives, slicers, and kitchen equipment.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced grocery store deli environment.
• Exposure to refrigerated temperatures and hot food equipment.
• Weekend, holiday, and evening availability are required.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
