Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily assembly activities, ensuring timely completion of production targets
- Lead and mentor assembly technicians, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide precise mechanical assembly
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math to verify component dimensions and tolerances
- Operate and maintain specialized industrial tools, pneumatic tools, power tools, hand tools, and soldering equipment with expertise
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols by enforcing the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe manual handling practices
- Review production documents and interpret manufacturing instructions to facilitate accurate assembly processes
- Conduct quality checks using measuring instruments and shop math to verify assembled components meet specifications
- Support machining processes when required, including interpreting technical drawings for mechanical parts fabrication
- Maintain detailed records of assembly activities, inspections, and quality assurance reports
Qualifications
- Proven experience in mechanical assembly within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and mechanical blueprint comprehension
- Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and specialized industrial tools for precision measurement
- Familiarity with soldering techniques and pneumatic tools for assembly tasks
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturing documents accurately
- Competence in shop math essential for measurements and calculations during assembly processes
- Mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with machining or metalworking is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high safety standards
- Excellent manual handling skills with a focus on safety protocols and PPE use
