- Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated PC Technician to join our IT support team. PC support tech works with other PC Support team members to maintain user systems and pc operations. Job duties include supporting users, handling help desk tickets, maintaining user computer hardware (PC’s, printers, copiers, phones, faxes, etc.), and supporting IT operations (classes, meetings, retail, and remote operations). PC support technicians support users as well as the pc network and overall IT operations. This includes endpoints, hardware, software, desktop-level applications, and user training and support as directed.
Position objectives:
1. Support all staff/personnel; this includes all tiers of support 1, 2, and 3 with help desk tickets and user support
2. Acquire the appropriate support to assist with number 1 if additional support is required.
3. Support and maintenance of all computer equipment.
4. Support of users’ desk phones, faxes, printers, and departmental copiers.
5. Support and maintenance of software and hardware inventory (asset management).
6. Support of all desktop applications as directed.
7. Support of security cameras, security access point systems, security software, and devices.
8. Support of retail stores, points of sales, waps, servers, cameras, phones, printers, etc.
Duties
· Support, repair, replace, and or upgrade equipment as warranted.
· Provide support and training to users regarding the use of software and equipment as needed.
· Install and configure computers and other related equipment to support user operations.
· Perform software and application testing, installation, and upgrades as directed.
· Make recommendations on software applications and equipment based on testing implementation and upgrades.
· Work to resolve all Help Desk support tickets promptly.
o Report/ad log ticket resolutions in the database and to the team for future resolutions
and learnings.
· Work with other PC support personnel to coordinate vendors to install, repair, and add special services to phones, copiers, and printers as needed.
· Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and software.
· Performs any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Extensive familiarity with computers, peripheral equipment, and systems.
· Knowledgeable and proficient with various operating systems, Windows 10/11, and MacOS (plus).
· Proficient in using Office and Exchange software applications.
· Ability to install, configure, and maintain PC’s, and/or related hardware and software.
· Knowledge of available computing and/or network hardware and peripheral equipment.
· Ability to utilize IT resources and establish priorities and maintain/keep deadlines.
· Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operational problems.
· Ability to follow directions and willingness to learn.
· Strong customer service skills and an ability to communicate well verbally.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Proficient with desktops, waps, printers, fax, and copiers.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree, and or at least two-year post-secondary education preferred.
· At least 3 to 5 years (latter is preferred) of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities listed; i.e., technical background including exposure to networks and multi-user applications.
· Additional certification and classes are a plus.
Job Types: Full-time, Temp-to-hire
Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per year
