As a member of the Livewire team, you’ll be at the forefront of producing creative and engaging world-class events throughout the Upper Midwest that are “what people talk about” when they get home. 

 

Brief Description: The Project Manager position is responsible for overseeing that all events and projects produced by Livewire, large and small, are well-planned and well-executed. As the project manager, your job is to plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of the specific project you are working on, and ensure clear and consistent communication flows between all parties. Project managers work closely with upper management to make sure that the scope and direction of each project is on schedule, as well as other departments for support. Additionally, a Livewire Project Manager also assists in the facilitation of training of other or new Livewire staff members or freelancers on specific show-based responsibilities, and the in-house production of audio, video, lighting, and scenic design for pre- or post-production needs.


This position often requires travel outside of Fargo, North Dakota. As this position is deeply involved in the production of live events, which are often dictated by the schedules of clients, venues, and elements outside of our control, this position often requires late nights, early mornings and work on the weekends. In turn, we do all we can to offer very flexible scheduling.

 

Duties include:

  • Be a contributing member of your team! Maintain a positive, can-do attitude, and encourage and help teammates to be their most successful. 
  • Work with Clients, Managers and Technical Directors to understand their vision and needs, as well as to work out any potential problems related to logistics of implementation (venue, transportation, etc.)
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs
  • Attend client meetings as appropriate.
  • Work with venue contacts to determine power needs, costs and requirements.
  • Assist in scenic/layout design process and determine next action steps for Livewire team.
  • Source and locate additional equipment for rental or purchase as needed/directed using our extensive list of vendor partners, and any contacts you might bring to the table.
  • Work with Operations Team to communicate budgetary needs at all phases of event process.
  • Work with and direct crew to rig/place Livewire materials as needed on-location.
  • Collaborate with other departments on the job site by assisting with their projects if you are at a stand-still.
  • Write cue sheets describing cues and cue numbers, cross-referenced to page numbers in script/show flow documents.
  • Facilitate client hand-offs / transitions of Livewire staff in the event of new staff on project site that Client or other contacts may be unfamiliar with.
  • Run cue-to-cue technical rehearsal.
  • Facilitate personnel communications and actions if off-site, and only when requested by Management.
  • Report any internal or external issues and escalate to management as needed.
  • Manage client relationship and expectations before, during, and after events. Ensure any conflicts or problems in the eyes of the Client are resolved to all parties’ satisfaction immediately.
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills
  • Other duties as assigned. (Keep your office space clean, etc.)

  • Strong ability to follow up onwhat needs to happen next across a variety of projects at any given time, internally and externally.
  • Trustworthy, self-motivated, self-starting, individual.
  • “Make it happen”, positive attitude while working in a rapidly-changing live event environment.
  • Evidence of ability to think critically and quickly on the job site.
  • Honesty and integrity.
  • Able to economically and effectively implement our clients’ vision, in coordination with all media, to create engaging, energizing environments for corporate, concert and theatrical events of all sizes.
  • Strong computer and Internet skills desired.
  • Multi-tasking and ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Able to see projects through from concept to completion.
  • Able to climb a ladder, use scissor/articulating lifts, and do some heavy lifting (equipment related).
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, balancing input and making the best decision(s) for all involved.


Helpful: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or above from a credible four-year institution.
  • We will also consider degree-in-progress applicants.
  • State-issued electrician or technology license
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) a plus, but not preferred.
  • Ability to drive 26’ box truck
  • Forklift certification a plus

 

Pay/Benefits: Annual pay determined on experience. Annual range $55,000-$85,500.

  • (80) Hours, ARTS time: All team members are encouraged to participate in and support non-profit/educational theatre, dance, music or arts initiatives in the communities we serve. ARTS time can be utilized anytime throughout a 365-day period upon approval.
  • (15) days paid time off
  • (5) paid sick days

  • Company vehicles are usually provided, in which case all fuel is paid. If for some reason this is not an option, mileage is paid at the current federal rate when using a personal vehicle.
