- supervising the unit
- establishing policies and procedures
- mentoring less experienced nurses
- setting standards of care
- reviewing resident records and quality of care
- monitoring overall care and individual cases
- addressing resident and family questions or complaints
- maintaining medical supplies
- representing the unit to upper management
- minimum 3 years of long-term care experience
- at least 1 year as a Unit Manager
- valid RN license
- basic computer skills
- strong communication skills
