Pharmacy Technician

Role Overview:

Provides accurate and efficient assistance to licensed pharmacists by preparing medications, stocking products, and delivering excellent customer service. Supports pharmacy operations through tasks such as counting, labeling, and retrieving prescriptions, maintaining patient profiles, and processing insurance claims. Ensures a clean, organized department while adhering to legal policies like HIPAA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stock and inventory medications, notify management of supply needs
• Receive and process prescriptions and refills from patients
• Count, pour, package, and label healthcare products
• Maintain customer profiles and insurance documentation
• Operate cash register, handle transactions, and provide receipts
• Ensure department cleanliness and product availability
• Follow all legal and safety policies and procedures
• Assist with delegated tasks beyond prescription verification and patient counseling
  
  

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Preferably one year of customer service or pharmacy-related experience
• Must have relevant state registration or certification
• Strong reading, writing, and comprehension skills
• Basic math skills and product knowledge
• Detail-oriented with suggestive selling abilities
  
  

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in varied temperatures and environments. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
