Key Responsibilities
- Production & Baking: Preparing and baking cakes, cookies, pastries, tarts, and breads based on established recipes
- Plating & Decoration: Creating, assembling, and decorating desserts, including icing, sugar work, and plating for service
- Inventory & Sanitation: Maintaining inventory of ingredients, restocking, and adhering to strict sanitation and health regulations
- Quality Control: Ensuring all products meet quality and consistency standards, measuring ingredients carefully, often using weight for
- Kitchen Collaboration: Assisting pastry chefs and working with other kitchen staff to coordinate dessert service
- Any other duties as assigned by management
- Must have ability to operate industrial machinery and understand, or willingness to learn, industrial mixing techniques
- Must have strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry, and dessert creation.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull 50 pounds
- Must be able to lift, bend, crouch, etc.
- Must be able to follow written instructions and read complex recipes
- Must have exceptional attention to detail regarding timing and temperature
- Ability to withstand extreme temperatures for short periods of time
- Must be able to stand continuously for 8-10 hours
- Must be able to work effectively in a team setting
