Overview
We are seeking a full time Childcare Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our early childhood program, lead instruction for a group of children, and mentor and support a team of teaching assistants and aides. This role is responsible for creating a nurturing, well-run environment that supports early learning, literacy, and social-emotional development. About the Opportunity
Little Village is entering an exciting stage of growth as we launch an innovative childcare program designed to support modern families with children ages 0–3. We’ll begin with a soft launch by mid to late May, followed by a full opening in July expanding care to children ages 0–3.
We will have a program and curriculum, designed by a childcare expert, to help you get started, and provide professional resources to help you succeed. As we grow, this role offers strong potential for advancement into senior leadership positions as the company expands.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision/Mentorship
- Hire, supervise, and mentor staff; conduct performance evaluations; and provide ongoing training and professional development.
- Communicate regularly with parents and address concerns promptly.
- Foster a positive, collaborative environment and model best practices in childcare.Communicate regularly with the organization’s leadership team about program updates, challenges, and goals.
Lead Teacher
- Serve as the Lead Teacher for an assigned group of children, aligned with your experience and program needs.
- Follow an age-appropriate curriculum aligned with early learning standards developmental for children 0-3.
- Provide support across other age groups as needed and offer guidance and assistance to fellow staff.
Administration
- Oversee children’s application and enrollment processes, maintain accurate records, and ensure family files are up to date.
- Manage staff schedules and coordinate family schedules for care and meetings.
- Ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- AA or BA degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (required)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in working with children & 2 years in a supervisory role (required)
- Knowledge of child development, health & safety regulations, and inclusive practices.
- Strong communication, organizational, and compassionate leadership skills.
- Sense of humor, compassion, and service-oriented mindset.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Orange County, California within 4 months of starting
Compensation & Benefits
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30-5:00 pm
- Compensation: $27..00–$32.00 per hour, plus eligibility for an annual merit-based raises
