Description
We are seeking a Technical Support Specialist to join our team through one of our trusted staffing partners. This position is a long-term contract role (not a direct hire with our company) and offers the opportunity to work closely with our internal IT department to support daily technical operations.
The Technical Support Specialist will ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks efficiently. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and resolving help requests. The role involves troubleshooting both remotely and in person, applying technical expertise and strong communication skills to deliver exceptional support.
Responsibilities
- Field incoming help requests from end users via telephone, web, and e-mail in a courteous manner.
- Document all pertinent end user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of the problem.
- Build rapport and gather detailed information from help desk customers.
- Prioritize and schedule problems; escalate as needed.
- Use diagnostic tools to aid in troubleshooting.
- Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing/upgrading software, configuring systems, and maintaining hardware.
- Conduct preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of workstations, printers, and peripherals.
- Test solutions to ensure full resolution and conduct post-resolution follow-ups.
- Evaluate recurring issues and propose long-term preventive solutions.
- Develop end-user documentation and FAQs.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
- Industry certifications (MCSE, CCNA, etc.) a plus.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware and Windows operating systems.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot, document, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
