Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans focused on literacy, math, social skills, and early childhood development.
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and guiding children through routines and activities.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, nap times, and transitions to ensure safety at all times.
- Help maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that complies with educational regulations and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily activities, progress, and any concerns about their child's well-being.
- Use educational technologies and computers to support interactive learning experiences for children.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop individualized support plans for children with special needs or disabilities, including those with autism.
Skills
- Experience working with young children in classroom settings or childcare environments.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and classroom behavior management techniques.
- Familiarity with special education practices, literacy education, math instruction, and early childhood curriculum standards such as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
- Strong communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration.
- Ability to supervise children safely while demonstrating patience and nurturing care.
- Understanding of educational compliance regulations and safety protocols including first aid and CPR certification.
- Proficiency with educational technologies and computers used for early learning activities.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to proofread educational materials and mentor new staff or volunteers as needed.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
