REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma
- Some college or experience
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, but not required
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM: Teacher; Building Principal
JOB GOAL: To assist the teacher in providing education and instruction to the student
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 4-6 hours/day; school year only
EVALUATION: Evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the district’s Personnel Evaluation Policy
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Consistent and punctual "on-site" attendance at the worksite is an essential job function
- Performs supervisory duties, such as lunchroom, playground, halls, and classroom
- Works cooperatively withthe teaching team to provide quality instruction and supervision
- Performs supervisory duties such as lunchroom, playground, halls, and classroom
- Communicates positive support of children in the classroom
- Assists the teacher by observing and supervising classroom activities
- Provides one-on-one and group instruction as directed by the classroom teacher
- Demonstrates confidentiality
- Assembles materials to be used in a particular unit
- Duplicates instructional materials
- Prepares bulletin boards and charts
- Helps in the care of the room
- Reads to students, listens to students read
- Assists in individual or group activities, games, flash cards, etc.
- Alerts the teacher to the needs of students
- Assist with the inventory of supplies and equipment
- Assists with field trips
- Makes educational games and aids
- Assists when emergencies arise
- Other duties as assigned by the teacher or early childhood program director
