Responsibilities
- Supervise children during daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational and recreational activities that promote childhood development and learning
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating environment conducive to early childhood education
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and daily experiences
- Follow mandated reporting laws to report any concerns related to child safety or well-being promptly
- Assist with diapering, feeding, nap times, and basic health needs in accordance with best practices and safety standards
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques and consistent discipline strategies
- Ensure compliance with all childcare regulations, including first aid, CPR certifications, and health protocols
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare centers, preschools, babysitting, nannying, or similar settings
- Knowledge of child development instruction and early childhood education principles
- Certified in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) with the ability to respond swiftly in emergencies
- Good classroom management skills and experience with behavior management strategies
- Excellent communication skills for parent interaction and teamwork
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and abuse prevention
- Ability to engage children in meaningful activities that support their growth across physical, emotional, social, and cognitive domains
