Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social skills, creativity, and learning for school-aged children
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques
- Ensure the safety of all children by maintaining a secure environment, adhering to safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and team members to support each child's individual needs and development goals
- Incorporate elements of special education when needed to support diverse learning styles and abilities
- Lead recreational activities such as sports coaching, theater projects, or arts & crafts to foster teamwork and self-expression
- Maintain accurate attendance records, activity logs, and incident reports as required
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare centers, camps, tutoring programs, or babysitting roles is highly valued
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; ongoing training in childhood development or early childhood education is a plus
- Familiarity with special education practices and working with children with diverse needs enhances your effectiveness in this role
- Experience in coaching sports or leading extracurricular activities demonstrates your ability to engage children through varied interests
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with children, parents, and team members
- A genuine passion for nurturing childhood growth through creative teaching methods and supportive guidance
