Summer Camp Counselor (Multiple Locations)

Job Overview: 

Little Learner Children's Academy seeks a Summer Camp Counselor to join our team. As a Summer Camp Counselor, you will be responsible for providing a fun and safe summer camp experience for children ages 5-12 (children must attend kindergarten). You will work closely with other camp counselors and the School Director to plan and implement daily activities, including arts and crafts, games, sports, and educational programs. 

Compensation:  Starting at $15.00 per hour (Commensurate with education and experience)

Locations: Bolingbrook, Crest Hill, Minooka and Yorkville

Responsibilities: 

• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities for children, including arts and crafts, games, sports, and educational programs. 
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers at all times. 
• Supervise children during activities and free play time, ensuring that all campers are engaged and participating. Provide positive and constructive feedback to campers, encouraging them to learn new skills and have fun. 
• Help to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all campers, regardless of their backgrounds or abilities. 
• Maintained a clean and organized camp environment, including setting up and cleaning up after activities and ensuring that all equipment was properly stored. 
• Communicate effectively with parents and other staff members, including attending daily meetings and providing regular updates on camp activities and any issues or concerns. 
• Follow all camp policies and procedures, including safety, health, and behavior management. 
• Attend all training sessions and meetings as required, including pre-camp training and ongoing professional development opportunities. 

Requirements: 

• At least 21 years old and willing to drive a van to provide transportation, if needed. 
• Experience working with children, preferably in a summer camp or similar setting. 
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a team environment. 
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively while maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and obtain required certifications or licenses. 

Physical Demands: 

This job requires the ability to perform physical tasks, such as standing, walking, running, jumping, and lifting, as well as work outside in various weather conditions. 

Work Schedule: 

This is a seasonal position, with hours varying depending on camp schedules. Candidates must be available to work  weekdays June 2026 - August 2026, with occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
