Job Summary
Little Goat restaurant in Rhinebeck, NY is looking for a hardworking, reliable dishwasher to join our team.

This position is for a PM dishwasher, two to four PM shifts a week starting at 4pm and working through close (usually between 10pm and 12am depending on the day). Opportunity for more shifts as we get busier in the summer.

Responsibilities include:

• Washing dishes, pots, and kitchen equipment
• Maintaining a clean and organized dish area
• Assisting with basic cleaning and kitchen support tasks
• Taking out trash and keeping work areas sanitary
• Supporting the kitchen team during busy service

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Reliable and punctual
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working on their feet for long periods
• A team player with a positive attitude

Kitchen or dishwashing experience is helpful but not required.

Pay: $17/hour

Duties

• Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling salads, or portioning ingredients under supervision.
• Support the culinary team with meal prep activities, including portioning ingredients and assembling menu items.
• Maintain a clean work environment by regularly cleaning workstations, floors, and storage areas in compliance with food safety standards.
• Handle food items carefully to prevent cross-contamination and ensure proper food handling procedures are followed.
• Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying staff of low stock levels.
• Follow all safety protocols related to kitchen operations, including knife skills and proper use of kitchen equipment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures.
• Experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings is highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with menu planning and meal assembly processes.
• Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic culinary techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting culinary staff and serving customers.
