Licensed Social Worker

POSITION SUMMARY

Little Flowers is seeking a Licensed Social Worker to provide therapeutic and social-emotional support to children ages 3–5. The Social Worker will work with children, teachers, and families to address behavioral and emotional needs and implement the goals of the therapeutic grant.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide individual and small-group therapeutic services to children ages 3–5.
• Conduct age-appropriate social-emotional activities and interventions.
• Support children with emotional, behavioral, and social needs.
• Observe children and identify areas requiring additional support.
• Develop and implement individualized support strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers to address classroom behaviors and social-emotional needs.
• Provide teachers with strategies for positive behavior support.
• Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding children's progress and needs.
• Provide referrals to community and mental health resources when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case records and service documentation.
• Track children's participation and progress.
• Collect data required for therapeutic grant reporting.
• Assist with grant reports and program evaluations.
• Participate in staff meetings, parent meetings, and case consultations.
• Provide staff training on social-emotional development, trauma-informed care, and positive behavior strategies.
• Collaborate with outside mental health and developmental service providers.
• Maintain compliance with professional, licensing, grant, and organizational requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current Maryland Social Work license appropriate to the position.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, as required by applicable licensing requirements.
• Experience working with children ages 3–5 preferred.
• Experience in early childhood, behavioral health, schools, or family services preferred.
• Knowledge of child development and social-emotional development.
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with children, families, teachers, and community partners.
• Commitment to trauma-informed and strengths-based practices.

PROGRAM GOAL

The Social Worker will help Little Flowers strengthen children's social-emotional development, improve positive behaviors, support families and teachers, and connect children to appropriate therapeutic resources.

SUPERVISION

The Social Worker will report to Jasmine Hardy, Executive Director, and work collaboratively with Family Services Coordinator.
