Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans tailored to toddler development stages, incorporating literacy education, early intervention strategies, and Montessori principles when applicable
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that promotes safety, curiosity, and positive behavior management
- Engage children in hands-on activities that support physical development, cognitive growth, and social-emotional learning
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns using clear and compassionate language
- Maintain accurate documentation of child development progress, attendance records, and incident reports in compliance with mandated reporting laws
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan classroom activities that incorporate standardized testing preparation and early childhood education best practices
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations by maintaining first aid and CPR certifications and following childcare standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with young children in a classroom or daycare setting is essential; preschool or toddler care experience is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of child development instruction, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies
- Demonstrated ability to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical education, and sensory activities
- Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention programs, and childhood welfare practices
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, staff, and community partners
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing professional development in early childhood education is encouraged
- Knowledge of Montessori methods or experience teaching physical education can be advantageous
