Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and Part-time Opener and closer to join our early childhood education team. This role involves supporting classroom activities, assisting lead teachers, and providing a nurturing environment for children ages 6 weeks to 10 years old. The ideal candidate will have a passion for child development, experience working with children, and a strong understanding of educational best practices, including special education and behavior management. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a positive learning environment while gaining valuable classroom experience in a supportive setting.
Duties
- Open the Center (hours 6-9am) getting the classroom ready for students.
- Close our center (3-6pm)
- Child arrival and departure with parents.
- Support classroom management and behavior management strategies to foster a safe and engaging environment.
- Help with daily routines such as diapering, feeding, and nap times for infants and toddlers, preschoolers and school age students.
- Support classroom organization.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social-emotional development, literacy skills, and early numeracy concepts.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth classroom operations and effective communication with parents.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or similar environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories, including behavior management techniques.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs, including autism spectrum disorder.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members.
- Background in early childhood education or related fields such as special education or literacy education is advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating flexibility as a floater across multiple age groups.
- Compassionate attitude with excellent classroom management skills and patience when working with diverse learners.
