Lead Teacher (Pre-k - school age)

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team to work in our school age classroom. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental milestones, and guiding a team of assistant teachers. This role requires a strong understanding of childhood development, classroom management, and caregiving practices to ensure the safety, well-being, and educational growth of children aged 3-10 years. The Lead Teacher will play a vital role in creating an engaging classroom atmosphere that promotes learning through play and exploration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum tailored to children age 3-10 years. that encourages cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development STEAM activities.
• Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and caregiving staff to ensure high-quality care and educational standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment in compliance with licensing regulations and best practices.
• Observe and assess each child's progress, documenting developmental milestones and communicating with parents regularly.
• Foster positive behavior management strategies to support social skills and emotional regulation among children.
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including first aid procedures when necessary.
• Collaborate with families to support each child's individual needs, including those with special education requirements or disabilities.
• Lead classroom activities that promote curiosity, creativity, and social interaction among children.
• Stay current with early childhood education trends, childhood development research, and best practices in p[re-school and lower school age children.

Experience

• Prior experience working with pre-school and school age students in a school, childcare or preschool setting is require.
• Demonstrated classroom management skills with young children.
• Experience with special education or working with children with disabilities is preferred.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education standards, and care-giving techniques such as nannying or babysitting is highly valued.
• Certifications in first aid and CPR are preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified.
• Previous leadership or teaching experience as a lead teacher or in a supervisory role is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with families, staff, and community partners. This position offers an enriching environment where passionate educators can make a meaningful impact on children's lives while advancing their professional growth within early childhood education.

Pay: From $11.00 per hour
