Job Overview

Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teachers with implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote childhood development and learning.
  • Provide attentive supervision and care for children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies.
  • Engage children in play-based learning, fostering social skills, creativity, and curiosity.
  • Help with daily routines such as diapering, feeding, nap time, and transitions between activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety regulations, including pediatric first aid standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and other licensing requirements related to childcare and early childhood education.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with young children in settings such as daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or similar environments.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
  • Certification or training in first aid and pediatric first aid is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with special education needs and working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
  • Strong classroom experience demonstrating effective classroom management and behavior guidance techniques.
  • Ability to work well with children of various ages, including infants and toddlers.
  • Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare.
