About the Role:
We’re seeking a part-time piano instructor to teach private lessons to kids (ages 7 ) and adults at our cozy, welcoming studio in Fallbrook. Our curriculum blends classical foundations with contemporary styles and encourages creativity, composition, and collaboration. The ability to teach group classes (ages 7 ) is a strong plus.
Responsibilities:
- Teach private piano lessons (and group classes, if applicable) using our creative, well-rounded curriculum
- Create weekly practice plans tailored to each student
- Communicate progress with parents and studio staff
- Prepare students for recitals, festivals, or exams (RCM, Rockschool, etc.)
- Contribute to student retention through friendly, supportive teaching
- Maintain an organized and professional workspace
- Assist at events such as recitals, open houses, or workshops as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in music, education, or equivalent work experience
- 2 years teaching experience (private or group)
- Comfortable working with both children and adults
- Strong music reading skills
- Ability to teach up to intermediate level and beyond
- Experience playing keyboard in contemporary band settings is highly preferred
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Fluent in English; Spanish a plus
- Must pass a background check
Schedule:
Immediate need: Wednesdays 3:00–6:30pm, with the opportunity to expand to earlier hours (starting at 11am) and/or additional days, especially Thursdays and Saturdays. Our studio is open Monday–Saturday, and we are actively looking for someone who would like to grow to 10–20 hours/week.
