Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and assist with food assembly according to established recipes and menu plans
• Wash, peel, chop, slice, and portion food items using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, dishwashers, and other culinary tools
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations by regularly cleaning dishes, utensils, countertops, and kitchen surfaces in compliance with food safety standards
• Assist with meal plating and serving to ensure timely delivery of meals to clients or customers
• Follow food handling procedures meticulously to uphold food safety management practices
• Support the dietary department by adhering to dietary restrictions and menu specifications during food prep

Experience

• Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly desirable
• Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities or dietary department operations is a plus
• Experience with menu planning and recipe adherence enhances your ability to contribute effectively
• Knowledge of food safety standards in production environments ensures compliance with health regulations
• Culinary experience including cooking techniques, knife skills, slicing methods, and meal preparation is advantageous
• Catering or serving experience can provide a strong foundation for this role
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with kitchen staff and ensuring smooth workflow
