Little Betty Steak Bar is a beautiful steak house style concept in Lane Park in the heart of Mountain Brook, AL. We offer thoughtful and elegant dishes such as A5 Japanese Kobe beef, hand crafted pastas, wood grilled steaks, oysters and crudos. We have warm, unpretentious hospitality under the direction of Chef Kyle Biddy and are working hard to build a team of "A" players to join our restaurant.
The line cook position is for those seeking more than "just a job" but a career in the culinary world and we are seeking candidates who can commit to the position for a minimum of 1 year. Responsibilities:
- Strong work ethic, strong sense of urgency, and responsibility; ability to maintain excellence in a fast-paced environment
-Cook menu items in alignment with the kitchen team to deliver dishes simultaneously at the appropriate time
-Maintain a thorough working knowledge of recipes, ingredients, allergens, and food presentation
-Ensure all the products and prepared items are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated following FIFO (first in, first out).
- High standards of cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail.
- Professional with colleagues and strong communication skills
- Self-driven and curious. Being proactive is a must, as is the ability to maturely receive feedback and directions.
- Ambitious, long-term goals in the industry.
-Set up, stock stations, and replenish kitchen inventory and supplies as needed.
-Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
-Consistently report to scheduled shifts on time and ready to work in proper uniform.
- Strong proficiency in English Spanish preferred.
The base pay range for this position is $17.00-$22.00 per hour. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
