Assistant Preschool Teacher

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our team. The Assistant Preschool Teacher will work alongside lead teachers to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the early childhood education of our students, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Part time shifts are typically 8:45 am-12:30 pm

Responsibilities:

1. Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities designed to promote children's development in areas such as language, motor skills, and socialization.

2. Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

3. Assist with the preparation and organization of materials and resources for daily lessons and activities.

4. Support lead teachers in observing and assessing children's progress and behavior, and communicate observations to parents or guardians as needed.

5. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where each child feels valued and supported.

6. Collaborate effectively with lead teachers and other staff members to create a cohesive team environment.

7. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the classroom, including sanitizing toys and equipment regularly.

8. Attend staff meetings, workshops, and training sessions to further professional development and stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.

9. Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations governing the operation of the preschool.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in early childhood education or related field preferred.

2. Previous experience working with young children in a childcare setting, preschool, or similar environment.

3. Understanding of child development principles and practices, with a genuine passion for working with children.

4. Patience, empathy, and the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.

5. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.

6. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from lead teachers and supervisors.

7. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).

8. Clear background check and health screening.
