What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Sales position at Littfin Lumber Company?
Littfin is looking for an experienced Director of Sales to lead our Outside Sales team and drive strategic growth across our markets. This is a key leadership role focused on strengthening customer relationships, expanding our client base, and developing strategic, data driven sales plans that deliver measurable results that reports directly to the VP/General Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze trends, data, demographics and pricing strategies to improve sales performance.
- Strategic planning – including market and competitive analysis and product positioning.
- Create and plan sales campaigns.
- Develop data-driven sales strategy and action plan to grow new sales and create playbook for repeatable sales.
- Create and execute annual and quarterly sales forecasts.
- Mentor and coach outside sales staff, to develop strong sales acumen.
- Track and report on performance metrics.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
- Act as escalation point for complex customer complaints and objections, including investigating, interpreting policy, and taking the appropriate action to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
Qualifications:
Education: Post-Secondary education in Business Administration, Sales, or other related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years in project sales, preferably in Building Materials or Construction Industry. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience managing a sales team.
Other Skill Sets Required:
- Understanding of residential construction processes, schedules and documents is critical.
- Strong database management, proposal creation and other business development processes, including project budgeting and planning.
- Strong knowledge of industry products, architectural/structural plans, and industry trends.
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Microsoft Outlook.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills. Must be able to communicate and interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Attention to detail and effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized in prioritizing work, multi-tasking, and consistently meeting deadlines within a fast-paced work environment.
- Demonstrated initiative with the ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment.
- Above average interpersonal skills with the ability to be tactful and diplomatic and to develop and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Ability to negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups.

Salary: $140,000 - $160,000/annual salary bonus potential
