Role Overview:
As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate billing and collections, maximizing reimbursements, and maintaining strong relationships with patients, payers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating smooth reimbursement from insurance providers. This role requires a strong understanding of medical coding systems, medical terminology, and electronic health record (EHR) systems to support efficient billing operations and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete billing and collection functions with a focus on policy adherence and accuracy.
- Manage Accounts Receivables.
- Follow up on denied and partially reimbursed claims.
- Prepare appeals, corrected claims, and reconsiderations.
- Ensure compliance with CPT, ICD-10, and insurance regulations.
- Assist with Charge Entry, as well as office, surgical, and therapy coding.
- Ensure that coding processes are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ability to communicate with patients about balances, claims questions etc.
- Maintain knowledge of orthopedic coding practices and procedures, as well as Federal and State documentation regulations and guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and the internal team.
- Collaborate as part of a team on special projects.
- Contribute to production goals in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
