The Role
We are seeking a highly driven and detail-oriented Electrical Designer/Engineer with experience in commercial electrical building systems design to join a premier engineering firm based out of Orlando, FL. This role involves designing and developing complex electrical systems across a diverse portfolio of projects including multifamily, hospitality, industrial, office space, medical space, and more. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring all designs meet rigorous industry standards and specific client technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Technical Design: Develop comprehensive electrical design drawings and documentation utilizing CAD and Revit software.
- Design Production: Contribute to the production of electrical power distribution systems, lighting layouts, panel schedules, load calculations, and construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit for commercial projects.
- Collaboration: Partner with internal project managers and multidisciplinary teams to define project scopes and deliverables.
- Compliance: Ensure all electrical designs strictly adhere to applicable building codes, industry standards, energy codes, and local regulations.
- Project Lifecycle Support: Participate in design reviews and coordinate with other engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Plumbing) to ensure seamless system integration.
- Construction Administration: Support field activities by responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and participating in on-site visits as required.
- Culture Contribution: Actively contribute to a high-character workplace through professional service and dependable execution.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of electrical engineering design experience for commercial building systems within the AEC industry preferred, however will also interview entry-level.
- Software Proficiency: Skills in AutoCAD and Revit are required.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred, but not required.
- Certification: EI (Engineer Intern) or PE (Professional Engineer) license is not required, but is a plus.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), energy codes, electrical power distribution, lighting systems, emergency power systems, and industry-standard MEP design practices.
- Soft Skills: Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Geography: Must reside in or near the Central Florida area to accommodate the 3-day weekly in-office requirement.
