Job Description
The Project Manager is a remote office role within the Operations team reporting to the Senior Director of Operations. This role is responsible for supporting clients’ need to document and inventory surplus asset equipment and load the data into our proprietary auction system for an online sale. Project Managers are accountable for executing the lifecycle of a surplus asset project from identification to removal. The role requires excellent self-directed qualities to manage coordination and communication with both internal functions and client stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Education/ Experience:
Position will require extensive time in front of a computer, significant time will also be spent on the phone or via teams communicating internally and externally. In the field, there will be significant time walking and standing, often in heavy industrial locations or rugged oilfield settings, and during warm or cold weather. Projected ongoing desk-based work is estimated at 70% with travel 30%. Initial training period would possibly be 50/50.
Travel
Travel by air or car will be moderate to include various client sites or yards as required. Driver’s License required.
Pay & Benefits
Compensation is determined by various factors such as location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as internal and external equity and organizational needs. Additionally, this role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
The salary range for this position is $61,100 to $76,400 annually. The posted range reflects our national average range for the job. We may ultimately pay more or less than the published range based on the factors mentioned above. This range may be modified in the future.

The role requires excellent self-directed qualities to manage coordination and communication with both internal functions and client stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Manage the asset workflow cycle starting with catalog of inventory, pricing strategy prior to sale, load into our IT system, answer any buyer Q&A and dispute resolution, removal strategy and confirmation.
- Initiate field services to catalog client assets through three options: provide client templates to self-catalog assets, leverage network of contractors, and or conduct in-person direct field cataloging.
- Collect, organize, and manage all data gathered during in-person site visits, or provided by client or field services rep.
- Collaborate with client and internal resources on lotting strategy and perform data entry and data upload into our internal IT system.
- Initiate marketing plans or private treaty resources required to effectively execute a successful sale event.
- Attend client in-person meetings or conference calls to discuss scope of the asset auction project, communicate the operational process and share project updates such as sale stage, pricing expectations, assets sold or unsold, disputes, refunds, and additional disposition options.
- Provide weekly project status update reports on a team call and 1v1 with manager which will include travel planning, client interactions, sale events status and associated KPIs, marketing plan, bidder inquiries and sales results.
- Resolve buyer dispute claims by working with customer support and revenue team. Communicate the claim and provide recommended solutions in coordination with the revenue team within 72 hours.
- Distribute Post Sale Reports to clients, which include sale results and recommendations for next steps.
- Build productive partnerships with the internal revenue team members (sales and account managers) and Senior Project Managers. The revenue team source new surplus projects and work with Operations program managers to map out a timeline and expectations in which operations governs all the project requirements and execution.
Education/ Experience:
- Undergraduate Degree (Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field) or Vocational Degree is preferred, but can be supplemented by work experience in the Energy Industry
- 3 years of experience in a self-directed and initiative driven work environment
- Direct applicable experience in the Energy Industry is desirable
- Logistics and supply chain management experience is desirable
- Advanced level proficiency in Excel, Word, and operational database
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Must be highly organized and detail oriented; accurate and timely
- Ability to handle multiple conflicting deadlines
- Must be reliable with tasks and attendance
- Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems
- Available for occasional travel of 1 to 5 days, with limited notice
