The Field Service Technician (FST) is responsible for operating specialized vacuum truck equipment to service wastewater systems and environmental infrastructure across commercial, industrial, and municipal customer sites. This position requires a strong focus on safety, mechanical awareness, and customer service, as well as the ability to work independently in the field.

Position Summary
Liquid Environmental Solutions is seeking a self-motivated Field Service Technician (FST) to support a combination of grease trap service and cross-trained Oil-Water Separator (OWS) / grit service.
This role is ideal for a self-starter who is comfortable working independently, managing long routes, and supporting both commercial and industrial customers. The position operates specialized service vehicles and equipment and requires a CDL Class A with manual transmission.
Compensation:
- Starting Pay: $33.00 per hour
- Sign-On Bonus: $5,000
Essential Job Functions
- Perform scheduled overnight grease trap service for restaurant customers throughout Oregon
- Cross-train and assist with service of grit systems and oil-water separators (OWS)
- Support OWS service operations across OR, WA, ID, and MT as needed
- Operate vacuum trucks and related equipment in accordance with company safety and operating procedures
- Remove liquid and solid waste materials, including grease, sludge, sand, and compacted solids
- Perform visual inspections of systems and identify abnormal conditions, damage, or service concerns
- Conduct manual removal of material when vacuum service alone is insufficient
- Accurately complete service documentation, including job notes, volumes, and site observations
- Communicate professionally with restaurant staff, industrial site personnel, and customer representatives
- Follow all site-specific safety rules, PPE requirements, and access procedures
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, DOT, and transportation regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned vehicle and equipment
Work Environment
- Restaurant, commercial, industrial, and outdoor environments
- Exposure to odors, weather conditions, kitchen areas, and industrial settings
- Work may involve confined or controlled-access areas
- Required use of PPE and safety equipment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including frequent heavy lifting and extended hose handling
- Ability to manually remove grease and compacted solids from traps, pits, sumps, or troughs as required
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and working around industrial equipment
- Ability to work extended routes and varying weather conditions
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A required
- Manual transmission endorsement required
- Ability to safely operate service vehicles and vacuum equipment
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently on overnight routes
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with both commercial and industrial systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- Professional communication and time-management skills
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
- Grease trap or interceptor service experience
