Lions Gate is seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Assistant to enhance the quality of life for our residents. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting engaging activities that promote socialization, physical wellness, cognitive stimulation, spiritual enrichment, and overall resident well-being. The Activities Assistant works closely with residents in our skilled nursing unit.

Activities Assistant
Every Other Weekend One Evening Per Week

Lions Gate is seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Assistant to enhance the quality of life for our residents. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting engaging activities that promote socialization, physical wellness, cognitive stimulation, spiritual enrichment, and overall resident well-being. The Activities Assistant works closely with residents in our skilled nursing unit.
Schedule
- Every other weekend (9:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- One evening per week (6:00 PM – 8:00 PM) Preferred Wednesdays
- Additional hours may be available as needed
- Update the Resident Activities Board daily and post calendars and special notices throughout the community.
- Deliver newspapers, packages, mail, and email correspondence to residents in a timely manner.
- Prepare and organize supplies for scheduled activities and events.
- Purchase and maintain program supplies and keep work areas neat and organized.
- Report broken equipment and supply needs to the Director of Activities.
- Provide one-on-one activities for residents who choose to remain in their rooms or are unable to participate in group activities due to health concerns.
- Plan, develop, and implement activity programs on resident units and assist with large community programs and special events.
- Encourage participation in group and individual activities including arts and crafts, outings, religious services, educational programs, recreational activities, and community service projects.
- Assist with organizing and supervising volunteers.
- Assist with planning and facilitating resident outings.
- Support programming within Safe Haven, our Dementia Care Program, as needed.
- Participate in pet therapy responsibilities if required, including feeding, providing fresh water, walking, and general care of community pets.
- Complete all required state, federal, and departmental documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in interdisciplinary Care Plan meetings and provide activity-related interventions and recommendations.
- Document resident participation, achievements, changes in condition, and other pertinent information to support resident care and communication among team members.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service focus and commitment to resident-centered care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must maintain and follow dietary laws required to support a Kosher environment.
- Must be dependable, organized, and able to adapt activities to meet the needs of varying resident populations.
- Safety-oriented and committed to providing a positive experience for residents and families.
