We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual for the role of Construction Safety Manager. The Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all safety requirements and regulations are followed within a hyperscale data center, with a focus on network cabling projects involving the installation of fiber and copper infrastructure. The primary tasks include preparing safety manuals, conducting job site hazard analyses, reviewing safety requirements, inspecting work activities, and training crew members on safe work practices to promote a culture of safety.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Team Management – Provide direction, mentorship and performance oversight to a team of safety coordinators.
- On-Site Hyperscale Safety Leadership Maintain a daily on-site presence within active and new-build hyperscale data center environments, serving as the primary safety authority for all low-voltage scopes.
- Low-Voltage Safety Program Development & Enforcement Develop, implement, and continuously improve hyperscale-specific safety manuals, policies, and procedures covering structured cabling, fiber optics, containment, racks, pathways, and live environments.
- Safety Planning, Risk Assessment & Documentation Create, manage, and maintain Site Specific Safety Plans (SSSP), Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), Pre-Task Safety Analyses (PTSA), and other audit-ready documentation aligned with owner and GC requirements.
- Regulatory, Owner & Industry Compliance Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, TIA, BICSI, and hyperscale client standards through plan reviews, frequent site audits, inspections, and corrective action tracking.
- Incident Prevention, Investigation & Corrective Action Lead hazard identification efforts, investigate incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Training, Orientation & Safety Culture Development Deliver hyperscale-required orientations, task-specific training, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety education to promote workforce readiness and a proactive safety culture.
- PPE, Tools & Equipment Oversight Oversee proper selection, use, inspection, and maintenance of PPE, lifts, ladders, fiber tools, and testing equipment across large, multi-crew deployments.
- Stakeholder Collaboration, Reporting & Metrics Collaborate with hyperscale owners, general contractors, project managers, supervisors, and subcontractors; track safety KPIs, submit required reports, and communicate safety performance and trends.
- Proven ability to effectively lead, manage and support a team of safety professionals.
- 3 years of safety management experience in construction, telecommunications, low-voltage, or data center environments, with demonstrated success in large-scale or mission-critical deployments.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, industry standards, and best practices applicable to construction, telecom, and low-voltage safety programs.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage Site Specific Safety Plans (SSSP), Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), and Pre-Task Safety Analyses (PTSA), with high attention to detail and audit-ready documentation.
- Demonstrated capability to conduct safety inspections, hazard analyses, and incident/near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Experience enforcing safety in active, zero-downtime environments with strong understanding of hyperscale owner safety culture, change control processes, and permit-to-work systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for workforce training, toolbox talks, stakeholder collaboration, and owner-facing reporting.
- Ability to work independently, make sound decisions under pressure, maintain accurate records, and meet operational requirements including valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and successful background and drug screening.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- OSHA 30 required
- Additional certifications (First Aid/CPR, Confined Space, Fall Protection) strongly preferred.
- Must be able to perform job site inspections and walk through various terrain.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights as needed.
$65,000 - $85,000/year
