Job Title: Maintenance Tech Forge – 2nd Shift
Location: North Vernon, IN, 47265
Type: 12-Month Contract-to-Hire
Job Summary
Maintain plant equipment and facilities to ensure safe, efficient operations and high-quality production. Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime. Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and Shift Leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assigned maintenance tasks and preventive maintenance (PMs).
- Maintain equipment, facility, and property.
- Communicate repair status and material needs to supervisors.
- Coordinate with production to align maintenance and operational priorities.
- Support planned changes to reduce production disruption.
- Assist engineering and quality teams to improve equipment reliability.
- Participate in cross-training and continuous improvement efforts.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulics, Electronics, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of industrial maintenance experience (4 preferred).
- Experience with forging, grinding, inspection systems, and related manufacturing equipment preferred.
Required Skills
- Basic troubleshooting, hydraulics, and electrical knowledge.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Knowledge of ISO standards (ISO9001/IATF16949/ISO14001).
- Safety-focused with solid technical and organizational abilities.
