What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Math/Science position at Linn MS/HS?
The Osage County R-II School District is seeking a positive, student-centered educator to join our middle school team as a 6th Grade Math and 7th Grade Science Teacher. We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally while creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment.
Qualifications
- Valid Missouri teaching certificate in Middle School Math, Science, or a related certification area appropriate for the assignment
- Uncertified applicants are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire middle school students
- Commitment to building positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Willingness to collaborate with fellow teachers and contribute to a strong school culture
Responsibilities
- Teach 6th Grade Math and 7th Grade Science curriculum aligned to Missouri Learning Standards
- Create engaging lessons that encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on learning
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of all learners
- Maintain a positive, structured, and student-focused classroom environment
- Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student achievement and school improvement goals
- Participate in school activities, professional development, and team meetings
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- 147 School Days
- 10 Contracted PD days
- 7 Paid Holidays (Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, day after Thanksgiving, December 24, December 25, December 31, and January 1)
Total: 164 contracted days
Osage County R-2 is a 4 day school week, runnign Tuesday through Friday.
